MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
What the South Australian program has delivered for Universal Store since 2021.
Every SA store is serviced by an Adelaide-based Platinum team — supporting faster
response times and a consistent point of contact across the network, rather than a fly-in model.
Approximately 150 energy-efficient fittings per new store, aligned with Universal Store's
national sustainability program and reducing power consumption from day one of trading.
The maintenance model applied nationally is delivered identically at every SA store,
regardless of location within the metro network.
Works were staged around trading so stores remained open and presentable through peak retail periods.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
Approximately 900 energy-efficient fittings were specified and installed across the new SA store fit-outs, supporting Universal Store's broader sustainability goals and reducing ongoing power consumption from the day each store opened.
All works were delivered to Australian compliance and testing standards, with a focus on quality workmanship that extends asset life and reduces the need for early replacement. The local team model also cuts travel-related emissions associated with servicing the network, compared with a centralised fly-in/fly-out approach.
