PROJECT INFORMATION
Dural Country Club carried out extensive renovations across its Bar, Dining, Auditorium, and Gaming Rooms. Our team at Platinum Electricians performed various electrical upgrades in collaboration with other trades. These renovations were part of a broader effort to modernise the facility and improve the overall functionality for both staff and patrons. Additionally, we were tasked with installing decorative festoon lighting to enhance the ambiance.

SCOPE OF WORKS

- Supplied and installed additional powerpoints throughout the premises for staff and equipment use.
Safety Upgrades:
- Removed and made safe several circuits to comply with updated safety standards.
- Installed RCDs to provide increased circuit protection where required.
Power Installation for Additional Spaces:
- Supplied and installed power in the auditorium to accommodate additional electrical equipment.
- Upgraded the front power outlets to support decorative lighting, enhancing the visual appeal of key areas.
- Installed 3 additional screens and 2 in the auditorium to support audio-visual capabilities for events and functions.
Lighting Enhancements:
- Installed a chandelier in the foyer, contributing to the club's aesthetic appeal.
- Upgraded panels and downlights throughout the premises for improved lighting and energy efficiency.
Emergency Systems:
- Installed a Gas Estop system to provide emergency shut-off capabilities in the kitchen and bar areas, ensuring safety compliance.
Decorative Tree Lighting (Festoon Lights):
- Festoon Light Installation: We carefully wrapped an oak tree in the club’s outdoor area with decorative festoon lights, creating a visually appealing ambiance. The layout was based on a custom sketch provided by the client to ensure the aesthetic was in line with the club’s vision.
- Voltage and Power Considerations: Given the length of the lighting runs and the unique characteristics of each tree, we accounted for voltage drops to ensure the lights would maintain a consistent output over time. This was particularly important to minimize wear and tear on the system due to temperature fluctuations and the natural growth of the trees.
- Layout & Power Split: Each tree was fitted with multiple power feeds using 10m leads and splitters. We adhered to a maximum single run of 50 meters to ensure the longevity and stability of the installation.
- Method of Installation: We employed the "Stretch and Grow" method, which involved using bungee cords to allow for movement and flexibility as the trees grow. This installation method, combined with a thoughtful spacing of 15-20cm between wraps, ensured a uniform and aesthetically pleasing result without overloading the electrical circuits.
- Future-Proof Design: The installation was intentionally left slightly under capacity, allowing the club to add more lights in the future if desired. The layout was designed to make future expansions easy and efficient.
Testing and Commissioning:
- All electrical installations were thoroughly tested and commissioned to ensure operational integrity and compliance with local regulations.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS
To accommodate the unique nature of the Dural Club’s layout and its outdoor trees, we utilised flexible power solutions for the distribution of electricity. We also followed specific guidelines for tree wrapping to ensure both aesthetic appeal and functionality were maintained for years to come.

OUTCOME
The electrical upgrades, including the decorative tree lighting, have significantly improved the operational capabilities and atmosphere of the Dural Country Club. The decorative lighting has created an inviting outdoor environment, especially in the evening.
